Lekki Concession Company would like to inform the general public that effective from MIDNIGHT on Monday, 1st March 2010, all vehicular traffic travelling along Lekki-Epe Expressway and passing Lekki Phase I Roundabout (“1st Roundabout”), which is still under reconstruction, will be diverted to the south side of the Roundabout. Completion of the works is now expected by 31st March 2010

1. Lekki Phase I Estate traffic will therefore not be able to enter from or exit onto Lekki-Epe Expressway at 1st Roundabout, during this period.
2. Vehicles wishing to travel from Lekki Phase I Estate towards Victoria Island will be able to do so by making a right-turn immediately after the Residents’ Association Pavilion, and using the new Maroko Foreshore Road to join Lekki-Epe Expressway. This access will be temporarily available only during the period while 1st Roundabout is undergoing reconstruction.
3.  Oniru Market Road will operate as a right-in, right-out turn only. No vehicles will be permitted to make u-turns at this intersection.
4. The intersection at Amazon Oil, between Adewunmi Adebimpe Drive and Lekki-Epe Expressway, will be specially controlled by traffic management officials, to allow vehicles from Lekki Phase I Estate that wish to travel in the direction of Elf Estate, White Sands School, and other destinations on the south side of Lekki-Epe Expressway, to cross the Expressway at this point. Priority of access will be given to peak hour traffic, however, which during morning hours is between 6AM – 9AM, and between 5PM – 9PM in the evenings.
5. Vehicles coming from Victoria Island into Lekki Phase I Estate will be able to do so either by making a left turn into the Estate at the 2nd Roundabout, or a left turn at the Amazon Oil intersection during evening peak hours only (5PM – 9PM). Vehicles coming from Ajah will also be able to enter Lekki Phase I Estate by making a right turn at 2nd Roundabout, or into Adewunmi Adebimpe Drive.

Road users are advised to drive with care and attention at all times, and to strictly adhere to safety measures put in place, by obeying traffic instructions from LASTMA, The Nigeria Police and other Law enforcement agencies, and from our contractor, Hitech Construction Company.

Directional and information signs will be placed along the axis to inform and guide motorists. Please refer to the map below for details of the diversion.
